11/18/20:Online Jiu Jitsu: LO5_A

During this pandemic many thing are different including jiu jitsu. Unfortunately I have not been able to attend classes in person so I have had to do them online. Which is okay but at first it was very difficult because I didn't have the equipment to sufficiently do kickboxing and I didn't have a partner to do jiu jitsu drills with. I was using a stuffed animal and once you've choked out a teddy bear once you've choked it out enough. I went on like this for a few months occasionally getting my siblings to help me but usually they didn't really wanna get choked either. So annoying. Anyway, soon my parents let me get some equipment for kickboxing but the thing was that I needed someone to hold the pads. And also we had started doing more jiu jitsu in class instead of kickboxing which also needs a partner. So I told Cooper (my younger brother) that he is to help me for jiu jitsu classes. As my little brother it is his duty to help his sister learn better ways to beat ...

11/11/20: Baking Rice Krispie: LO7_C

Today I will be considering the ethics of multiple choices and actions during my first Rice Krispie treat baking experience. Like I said, I had never made them before but Tyler's mom wanted some so we went to the store to buy some ingredients. First choice was whether to buy large or mini marshmallows and how many. The recipe said to buy two packs of large marshmallows however, we didn't think that we could finish that much rice krispies and also we didn't want to waste any food. Next we were doing self checkout and we had to decide whether or not to back all the items we bought. I was against bagging them because these plastic bags are horrible for the environment however, Tyler said that we had too much stuff to carry. In the end we compromised and only used one bag. This would then not be wasteful but also make sure we didn't drop anything and then ruin some product which would then waste their money. A good compromise. Next time though, we should bring reusable gro...

11/4/20: Volleyball: LO2_A

In this volleyball season I have the job of being the setter. It has its ups and downs, but overall it is very challenging. First of all, I always have to get the second ball. Which means I have to call it, very loud and I have to move people out of my way to get it. Not only that but I also have to call "here!" so they know where they need to pass the ball for me to set, and then after calling "mine!" I also have to call who I am setting to. So there is a lot of yelling and directing in this job. I am not very good at yelling and although I can direct very well, it is still hard. So I have had to learn how to direct/lead my team and how to be loud. Although it started out a little rough, I am now very loud and yell my directions to the team. This has also improved our teamwork which was an expected yet also unexpected perk of me taking charge within our team. However while undertaking this setter challenge I have also improved on some new unexpected skills. For exa...
